Project Pinky Tribute Tiles is a tribute to my father, Pinky, (Paul Bernstein) and his remarkable life. His story is one of resilience, courage, and selflessness. Born in Brooklyn during the Great Depression, growing up in a large, working-class family, Pinky experienced hardship but always found a way to bring joy and laughter to those around him. His service in World War II, including his time as a POW and his bravery in the Battle of the Bulge, only scratches the surface of the man he was. With a Purple Heart and Bronze Star to his name, Pinky’s humility and never speaking about his experiences only further illustrate the depth of his commitment to helping those in need.
He is a man who embodied kindness, humor, and an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and country. His legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and making the world a brighter place for those fortunate enough to know him. Project Pinky Tribute Tiles are a beautiful way to honor his memory and carry forward his spirit of generosity and joy, while also raising money for veterans in need—a cause that Pinky would undoubtedly support.
